Dear Friends of NARTH:
This
newsletter is full of examples of how NARTH is making an essential
difference in the debate over client rights, student rights, sound
psychological care, and the continued need to reach out those
struggling with unwanted homosexual attractions. To push forward with
our important work we need your help!
The new Journal of Human
Sexuality - for example - cost NARTH more than $25,000 to write,
publish, print, and distribute. A very reasonable amount really for
all that it accomplished. Our total annual expenditures are very
modest. We only budget about $18,000 each month for all our NARTH
activities compared to the millions of dollars gay activists spend to
mislead the public about the usefulness of treatment and the
assistance available for those seeking help and accurate,
reliable scientific information.
To continue this important fight
we rely on our members and friends for support. Please consider going
to our web site right now and making a generous donation to
NARTH. Every month new lawsuits are filed against prospective
counseling and psychology students who will not abandon their belief
that unwanted homosexuality can be treated. We need to help them!
Every month we receive almost one hundred telephone calls from
individuals and families looking for reliable therapists. They need
our assistance! Each month thousands of individuals visit the
NARTH web site seeking accurate information about homosexuality. We
must be there to give them help and
hope!
I promise you that if you will
stand with us in these difficult economic times we will stretch every
dollar to get the most value we possibly can. We will expand the
use of those dollars by utilizing volunteers to man information
booths at conventions across the nation over the next few months, we
will continue to use electronic communications to share with
people the NARTH story, and as a Board we will continue to teach,
travel, and speak at our own expense where ever we can.
The success of this organization really rests
in your hands and we thank you in advance for your continued support!
Julie Harren Hamilton, PhD.
President

54%
of US HIV Infections Caused by Homosexual Activities Among Men 13
to 29
June 18, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The U.S. Center for
Disease Control has issued a fact sheet which says that 54% of HIV
infections among males, aged 13-29, were caused by homosexual
contact in 2006. This is
opposed to 34% of
infections caused by heterosexual contact in the same
demographic.
"From 2001 through
2006, male-to-male sex was the largest HIV
transmission category in
the United States
and the only one associated with an increasing number of
HIV/AIDS diagnoses," the fact sheet said. The article
further states that 77% of HIV positive homosexual men between the
ages of 15 and 29 do not know that they are infected.
The demographic of young
adult homosexual males between the ages of 13 and 29 is the
only noticeably growing demographic in terms of HIV
infection. |

Harassment of Students
Unwilling to Affirm Homosexuality Continues
Only
months ago Eastern Michigan University dismissed Julea Ward from the university counseling
program because she would not agree prior to a counseling session
to affirm a client's homosexual behavior and would not retract her
stance in subsequent disciplinary proceedings.
Now a Missouri State University social work student
Emily Brooker was threatened with
expulsion after she refused (as a matter of personal belief) to
send a signed letter to the Missouri state legislature in favor of
homosexual foster parenting and adoption. This violation resulted
not only in a federal lawsuit (which the school settled) but also
in an official report that found that a culture of intimidation
rife in the schools School of Social Work. For instance, many
students and faculty stated a fear of voicing differing opinions
from the instructor or colleague, and bullying was used by both
students and faculty to characterize specific faculty.
NARTH
supports the Alliance Defense Fund
Center for Academic
Freedom who have filed a lawsuit against Eastern Michigan University.
We
encourage all psychology, clinical social work, and counseling
students to consider joining the NARTH student division (only $10
annually) to help us fight for the rights of clients, therapists,
and counseling students. |
